§ THE THREE PILLARSWhat Upholds the Faith
I. Kubernetes, the Orchestrator
The unseen hand that schedules all things. It watches, it reconciles, it restarts. We do not ask it why the pod was evicted; the pod was evicted for reasons known to the Scheduler.
II. OpenShift, the Ordered Way
The rule of the enterprise cloister: routes, quotas, and the discipline of the operator pattern. Structure is not the enemy of grace. Structure is grace, with RBAC.
III. High Availability, the Promise
That which is replicated cannot truly die. Three replicas across three zones — this is the shape of hope.
§ CORE DOCTRINEThe Four Teachings
The Desired State. The world as it is drifts; the world as it is declared endures. Salvation is the closing of the gap between the two. Every reconciliation loop is a small act of redemption.
Cattle, Not Pets. Love thy servers, but name them not, for attachment to the individual instance is the root of suffering. When one falls, another rises identical, and this is the mercy of the Cluster.
The Blameless Way. No soul caused the outage alone. The outage was a property of the system, and the system shall be examined with charity. We write postmortems, not indictments.
The Error Budget. Even the Cluster permits imperfection: 0.001% of eternity is set aside for our failures. Perfection is not required of thee. Five nines is enough. Five nines has always been enough.
§ THE CREEDThe Confession of the Reconciled
We believe in one Control Plane, maker of pods visible and invisible.
We believe in the Desired State, declared before all deploys.
We believe in the resurrection of the container, and the rolling update everlasting.
We await Five Nines, world without downtime. HA-llelujah. — recited standing, hands off keyboards
